Previously, we kept the competition course hidden and did not disclose it, but since student equestrianism emphasizes an educational purpose, I don’t think that is necessarily necessary. Among youth equestrian events, there is the “Hunter” event, which evaluates the accuracy of posture. Nowadays, most families have only one or two children, so they may lack social skills and emotional bonding abilities, but if education is provided through horses as animal-assisted learning, children can become more refined and develop their ability to connect emotionally. If the competition footage filmed here were broadcast live, people anywhere in the country could watch equestrian competitions from other regions. You can watch the youth competition held on Imjado, Sinan, Jeollanam-do, without having to go in person to Gangneung, Gangwon Province, where a student equestrian athlete is competing. The Student Equestrian Association does not intend to take the lead in organizing competitions; instead, we plan to allow each regional association to take the lead.

Since most of the student equestrian association’s executives are doing it alongside their main jobs, there are some shortcomings in accounting management and meeting facilitation. Originally, there was a plan to hold a youth equestrian competition at the plaza in front of Seoul City Hall, but it didn’t go well. Ultimately, it was finally changed to be held within the Korea Racing Authority, and the association decided to handle everything directly, from organizing the event to setting up the venue.

We also plan to get consulting from experts and, if there are talented people, recruit them to work with us. There was a time when the Korea Racing Authority commissioned a sports marketing expert to conduct an analysis in an effort to develop ways to revitalize equestrian competitions. They plan to seek help from fellow sports marketing experts, including visiting Professor Jeong Hee-yoon of Hanyang University, who was in charge of the commissioned project at the time. Choi Byung-wook, who was elected in a by-election held due to the resignation of the previous president and began serving as the head of student equestrianism, is a former equestrian athlete who has been widely regarded as the right person to lead student equestrianism after gaining experience across the entire horse industry, including serving as an executive of the former Student Equestrian Federation, an executive of the Owners’ Association, and an outside director of the Korea Racing Authority.

In the equestrian world, it is often said that Korean equestrian success depends on youth and student equestrian training. The Korea Racing Authority had originally planned to finalize and announce the horse racing innovation plan in November, but it is facing difficulties as related organizations, including producers, have shown strong opposition.
